Assoc.Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duy Bac, Vice President of the Academy, deliveredhisremarks at the opening ceremony
The training course was organized to implement the Academy’s strategic orientation on digital transformation across all areas of its operations. Within this process, library and information services play a crucial role in providing, connecting, and disseminating knowledge, thereby effectively supporting training, scientific research, and policy advisory activities.
Addressing the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duy Bac emphasized that amid the rapid and comprehensive digital transformation taking place across sectors, library and information services must further affirm their role as a core force in organizing, connecting, and disseminating knowledge throughout the Academy system. He noted that while libraries had traditionally focused on storing and providing documents through conventional methods, they now need to adopt a modern knowledge management approach, placing data at the center, users at the heart of service delivery, and technology as the key tool for enhancing the quality and effectiveness of operations.
Overview of the ceremony
To ensure that the course achieves its intended objectives, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duy Bac called on all participants to demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility, clearly define their learning goals, and fully engage in all course activities. He encouraged trainees to take the initiative in self-study, actively participate in discussions and exchanges, and strengthen practical application in order to enhance their capacity to apply digital technologies in their work. More importantly, he stressed that upon completion of the course, each participant should become a driving force for digital transformation within their respective units, helping to disseminate new knowledge and innovative working methods across the Academy system.
According to the plan, the training course will be held from April 20 to April 24, 2026, and will comprise six modules combining theoretical instruction with practical exercises. The curriculum focuses on key aspects of digital transformation in library and information services and has been designed to be up-to-date, practical, and closely aligned with real-world requirements. Particular emphasis is placed on equipping participants with foundational knowledge of digital technology applications while enhancing their skills in developing, managing, and delivering information services in a digital environment. Through the course, the Academy aims to strengthen the professional capacity, adaptability, and innovative mindset of library and information staff across its system, thereby contributing to the successful implementation of digital transformation initiatives.
